As a borderline petite person who enjoys curvaceous styles (and who is changing sizes), I understand how tough it can be to find jeans for short women that fit perfectly off the rack. I also understand how much confidence is boosted by garments that fit well and highlight your best attributes. It is critical to feel comfortable about what you wear! (I did not like what I was wearing, so I experimented with my unique style, which lead to my creating this site 10 years ago and chronicling my outfits!)
We have all heard that finding jeans that fit may be difficult, if not impossible, especially if you need a short inseam and a waistline that hugs rather than gaps. While I am all for bringing clothing to a tailor when necessary, a number of companies now provide denim that fits those of us who are both short (or small) and voluptuous. Below are my top jean recommendations for other short and curvaceous ladies, as well as a few outfit ideas featuring my favorite curvy denim styles. There are also plenty of jeans to choose from!
Best Jeans for Short Women
To be absolutely honest, every type of jean looks great on jeans for short curvy women. It all depends on your unique preferences! I wore skinny jeans for many years. I honestly felt I would never stop wearing them. I still own slim pants, but I do not grab for them as quickly as I used to. If you enjoy slim jeans, buy and wear them! I still appreciate how thin jeans showcase a voluptuous physique and are ideal for winter wear.
If you are ready to move on from thin jeans, try a pair of straight leg jeans first. They have a thinner fit through the leg that elongates without hugging it. For those looking for jeans for short women, this style might be especially attractive because it gives the illusion of longer legs.I jumped right from slim jeans to wide leg jeans, which was a shock to the system after years of wearing skinny jeans, but I have learned to enjoy them! The silhouette is very distinctive, and it was tough for me to style at first. Now I enjoy the loose fit through the leg!

I have curvy jeans in slim, straight leg, demi-boot (like kick crop), and wide leg styles. As long as you select jeans with a wider waist-to-hip ratio so they hug in all the right places (no gapping!) and an inseam that fits you off the rack, you are good to go. Have fun and try out new looks!
I have compiled a list of jeans for short curvy women from some of my favorite companies in the widgets below! Where do you prefer to get your jeans?
Abercrombie and Fitch
Abercrombie & Fitch is back, better than ever. Their curve love collection is ideal for curved women, and the number of variations available is truly staggering! There are slim jeans, straight leg jeans, mom jeans, wide leg jeans, and slouchy jeans. And their jeans are available in "short" and "extra short" inseams!
Ann Taylor
Ann Taylor is known for their workwear, but did you know they also sell denim? If you can wear jeans to work, check out their denim! They include traditional and trendy jean styles that seem sophisticated enough for dressier events.
Everlane
Everlane's "authentic stretch" denim was a favorite of mine when it was available. Everlane has a selection of short girl-friendly jeans in a range of styles. If you want a stiffer denim, I found theirs to be slightly stiffer.
J.Crew
J.Crew may not be the first place you think of when it comes to jeans, but they do have a few straight leg denim styles that are suitable for my fellow short ladies. If you prefer a midrise on your diminutive body, try J.Crew.
LOFT
LOFT, like its parent store Ann Taylor, has a diverse selection of jeans for my fellow short curvy girls. I have found their fabric to be stretchy and comfortable—a great option if you do not like pants that are overly stiff or difficult to move in.
Madewell is my favorite retailer for curvy tiny jeans! Almost all of my denim comes from Madewell, and their curvy denim fits flawlessly. I usually choose for tiny inseams, too. If you are new to the brand, try out their wonderful vintage styles!
Old Navy
Old Navy has a large selection of curvaceous jeans for short women. They have one of the best size options among all merchants, with sizes spanning from 0 to 30. Plus, all of their jeans are under $100, with the majority being under $50!

Jean Outfits for Short Curvy Figures
The pants in the first shot above are my most recent pair of best curvy jeans —from Abercrombie! I adore this pair of high waisted straight leg jeans. They are incredibly comfortable and were the perfect choice for my recent vacation to Germany and Austria. This traditional dark indigo color enhances any attire and is suited for a more informal environment. I enjoy wearing mine with classic tees, cable knit sweaters, and loafers.
Kick crop jeans are an excellent alternative to skinny jeans. In the second photo above, I am wearing Madewell's old demi-boot jeans; those jeans have been retired, but an updated "kick out crop" model that is nearly identical is currently available. They fit similarly to slim jeans, but have a small flare at the ankle. Because they are not fitting across the leg, I like to pair them with a more fitted top and a shoe that either shows a little skin or hugs my foot and ankle to keep them from looking too "bulky" for want of a better phrase.
Wide leg jeans are popular right now, and I will be honest: I was not a fan when they initially came out. I thought I would never leave my favorite skinny jeans! I decided to take the plunge and go directly from thin jeans to wide leg jeans. It took a few months for me to feel comfortable in them, but I am now a fan. (Korri is not. Haha. He refers to them as my "baggy jeans" and does not understand why they have become popular again.

Wide leg jeans can be more difficult to dress if you are used to the slim cut of skinny or straight leg jeans. I prefer to balance the proportions by wearing a fitting top or sweater. I also own these high-rise jeans, which I prefer to pair with cropped blouses that hit at the top of the waist. I do not just wear cropped tops; I also enjoy tucking tank tops in and adding a cardigan on top! You could even dress them up for work in a tight tank, blazer, and pumps. Shoes are the most difficult to style with these pants, and I believe sock booties look best in the cold.
I can not talk about jeans for short curvy women without mentioning our close friend, the slim jean! Skinny jeans prolong the leg line and are a go-to for me in the winter because they easily fit into boots. Because they are fitting, I prefer to wear them with large, chunky knit sweaters, boxy tees, and so on. I enjoy wearing big tops with thin jeans.
My favorite skinny jeans are the Madewell curvy thin jeans; I find that Madewell's pants fit me best overall and have held up well over time. As a borderline tiny person, I usually go for the petite length, but depending on the style, I may go for the regular length. (If it says "crop" in the style name, I usually go with regular length!) For those looking for the best jeans for petite women, always double-check the inseam while searching for petite curvy jeans.
