Fashion Week is always full of whimsy, no matter the season, but there's nothing fancier than Haute Fashion Week Couture in Paris. This week the brands presented their Autumn/Winter 2024/2025 collections and the looks were breathtaking. When it comes to haute couture we expect elaborate and unique pieces, but that doesn't mean that the trends that hit the catwalks can't be replicated in everyday life.
Underwired top
The gravity-defying molded bras of Haute Couture Fashion Week had us fighting the urge to scream, "Luckily, this belongs to a museum!" , swapping out a tee or crop top for a bra is easy, and while we've been hooked on this trend for a minute, we love the freshness of Gaurav Gupta's metallic and woven versions. Rahul Mishra and Viktor & Rolf on the catwalk.
Oversized jumpsuits
High-Week Couture Este It might not seem like the right place to get basic style advice separately, but Valentino, Thom Browne and Schiaparelli have all included oversized clothing items, from blouses to skirts and jackets. At the Valentino show in particular, Kaia Gerber wore a stunning white button-down shirt, which made us want to add larger men's pieces to our online cart.
Heavy metals
A beloved piece of clothing can feel like armor against the world, and designers like Jean Paul Gaultier, Iris van Herpen and Georges Chakra have explored this concept with designs that they literally look amazing as high fashion knights in shining armour. Channel the vibe with a shiny faux fur jumpsuit or chain accessories.
Bejeweled Blitz
Only one couture piece can make a statement team. Skilled seamstresses spent hundreds of hours creating them, a fact that becomes evident when examining the looks of Tony Ward, Fendi and Elie Saab, which were not only adorned with jewels but, in many cases, transparent. Channel this bright, decadent trend by limiting it to just one piece, like a crop top or accessory.
Silhouette design
Corset - The i trendy tops were in style all year round, but collections from Schiaparelli, Zuhair Murad and Ashi Studio respectfully said "Hold my beer" with these couture versions. Many ready-to-wear brands offer corsets for sale. However, we recommend keeping them transparent or choosing a top with visible bone details to express this trend.
3D flowers
The flowers will always appear in one form or another at fashion week, but the 3D rosettes and intensely colored sequins seen on Imane Ayissi, Zuhair Murad and Armani Privé were something special. This trend translates perfectly into a dressy top for date night or a night out.
Patterned fringes
Coastal cowgirl fringes, this that's not the case. The fringes seen on the runways of Imane Ayissi, Georges Chakra and Stefan Djokovich were exaggerated and non-denim. To try this trend at home, look for fringed dresses or shoes in bright shades of purple and butter yellow, or better yet, opt for metallics.
